Day 26 - Eads CO to east of Leotti KS, 85 miles, 5:27
They are the skyscrapers of the plains. These huge silos with office-looking look out towers dot the horizon in all directions along Hwy 96 in western Kansas.
And folks are smiling around here. It's harvest time and the price of grain is unusually high.
Reminds me of Luke 10:2. Jesus had commissioned the seventy two to go out two by two and prepare the way for the Lord. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
The workers out here in Kansas give off a completely diffrent vibe than those in most of the towns we've visited previously.
Their willingnss to put their trust in God out front may have something to do with it. This billboard in Leotti, 20 miles west of Scott City may be evidence of that notion.
